Doesn't Look Like it Will Last Long

Received this scapular today. One plus: It says it is wool.
But the thread used to stitch the pictures on it is real cheap and thin looking. And the pictures are on paper.
I think one could easily scratch the pictures. And that the thread could easily be broken. Perhaps I can find some clear material to overlay onto the scapular pictures to preserve the images and to protect the thread. I could also hand sew over the stitches with nylon thread which is very strong and used for upholstry so that would reinforce the stitching. Otherwise pretty scapular and good cord.
